Getting ready for a new adventure

Not many people know that David got accepted into the Technology Teaching Master at the New York Institute of Technology, the Manhattan campus. We've been really excited about it but at the same time have been feeling a little stressed out about the move and the whole new experience. I, for one am really excited to live in NYC but I'm definitely not looking forward to the move. It will be hard to do it, stressful and very expensive. I know we'll manage but knowing that I'll have to do most of the packing and planning alone is not very appealing. However, I'm happy and excited for this new adventure and David is too. We're planning to leave at the beginning of August but before that we'll need to find an apartment, and make flight and moving truck reservations. We'll have our stuff shipped to NY and David will go first and hopefully be able to sign an apartment contract before we all go there. We'd very much appreciate some suggestions from those of you who survived going through a big move like this and have more experience at it than we do. : )
I really hope that things will go well for us this time and that we'll be happy and successful. We will definitely miss our friends in Utah and hope to keep in touch. And of course that everyone is welcome to come visit! We'll let you know once the move is all planned and definite.

Dali, that's very exciting!!! Congratulations to David for getting accepted into the program!NYC should be a great adventure for you all! A couple of quick tips on the move: make extensive lists (detailed) of all you decide to take with you. Before you do that though, try to weave through everything you have currently and decide what you really need/want to take with you. Getting rid of some of the extra stuff you may have, could make the move smoother. What you pack you'll have to unpack :) Space is always a concern in the big city, so keep that in mind. Labeling every box or unboxed article that goes in the moving truck is a must (I used our names and new address + phone number.) And finally start planning and packing early enough so you don't feel to overwhelmed right before the big move day! Mult success si pupici!

Multumesc Cristina. Nu m-am gandit sa label fiecare cutie. Suntem bucurosi dar ne e si teama de necunoscut. Cred ca va fi bine. :)
